New Construction Exploration
You may recall we recently wrote about How to Kick Start Your New Construction Project. So you’ve taken all of the steps…you’ve hired a team, gathered your inspiration images, established a budget…but what’s next?! We’re here to shed some light on the very first phase of the design process once you’ve hired RBID for your new construction project!
Exploration
Upon signing on your project, we move into the Exploration phase. To streamline the process, we provide a Welcome Packet that clearly identifies the next steps for you, as well as information to guide you throughout the entire design process so that you know what to expect from your design team. Here’s what your packet would include for the Exploration phase.
Your Homework
▢ INTRODUCE US TO YOUR TEAM | If we haven’t worked with your Contractor or Architect before, we’ll need to make their acquaintances so that we can start the working relationship off right!
▢ PROVIDE ARCHITECTURAL PLANS | Even if you’re architectural plans haven’t been finalized, we’ll need to see where you’re at in order to assist with finalizing the plan set.
▢ COMPLETE GETTING STARTED QUESTIONNAIRE | We have a robust questionnaire for all decision makers on the project to complete. This helps us get to know so many intricate details about you, your family and how you’ll live in your home.
▢ SHARE INSPIRATION IMAGES | We’re ready for the photo dump! You’ve been collecting inspiration by way of Pinterest or magazine pages or screenshots. Share them with the RBID team and we’ll get them organized in our files to utilize during the design process.
▢ FURNISHINGS | If there are existing furnishings to be repurposed in your new home, we’ll need an inventory of these items with dimensions and photos.
Our Turn
Once you’ve completed your homework, we can get into the weeds of your lifestyle and needs for your new home. We review in dpeth all of your submittals and conduct a meeting with you to review many of the details. Once we have a sense of your likes, dislikes, needs, and wishes for your new home, we’re well equipped to move on to the next phase of the design process: Architectural Design Concepts. More on that later!
